What blood tests indicate liver damage?
Several blood tests can indicate liver injury.
Important markers include:
• ALT and AST – enzymes released when liver cells are damaged
• Bilirubin – rises when the liver cannot process bile properly
• Albumin – decreases in advanced liver disease
• INR – increases when the liver cannot produce clotting factors
These tests are part of the Liver Function Test panel.
