On the occasion of World Liver Day, we conducted a Liver Fibroscan for Mumbai’s journalist community at the Mumbai Press Club. My colleague Harshad Joshi and I also held a workshop for the members of the Mumbai Press Club.
Liver disease is a silent killer due to its asymptomatic nature, and the only way to diagnose it is through screening.
Journalists often lead a stressful life due to the nature of their work and are prone to Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease. With this screening, members and staff of the Mumbai Press Club were given a free Fibroscan of their liver.
Fibroscan is the next big thing in liver diagnosis — it is non-invasive and quickly detects liver fibrosis and fatty liver conditions.
